Over 155,000 sq ft of Grade A office space.
The Adelphi has become an icon
of modernist architecture.
Today, that history takes another leap
forward with a new,
contemporary redevelopment.
The best of tradition,
combined with contemporary style.
Grade II listed building retaining original 1930s Art Deco features, the refurbished Adelphi will be a sight to behold with its commanding position over the River Thames. The names of the surrounding streets Adam Street, Robert Street and John Adam Street are dedicated to the Adam brothers, constructors of the original Georgian houses on the site.
The impressive Art Deco Portland stone facade is emphasised by the Gilbert Ledwood sculptures that frame the building. Together with classic columns and Deco bronze work illustrate the eclecticism that characterises the 1930s.
The redevelopment retains elements of the original Art Deco interior, such as the Travertine marble surfaces in the main entrance lobby to John Adam Street, the copper spandrels within the staircases, as well as the Art Deco-style etched glass panels.
